General Information
Biography
Dr. Turner, an Omaha native and UNO alum, worked in the social services field for over a decade before pursuing her doctoral degree at UNL. As an assistant professor, she enjoys training the next generation of social workers on providing high-quality services and building empathy for all populations. Dr. Turner also strives to partner with the Omaha community to promote community-centered research. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, listening to music, and being in nature.
Teaching Interests
Dr. Turner teaches courses focused on leadership and ethics, clinical practice, and the Black community.
Research Interests
Dr. Turner's research focuses on supporting neurodiversity within the Black community with an emphasis on fostering acceptance, value, support, and encouragement for youth and young adults.
