About Katherine
Katherine Keiser is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and serves as Associate Director at CAPS.
She started as a graduate assistant for CAPS in 2008 while earning her master’s degree in community counseling from UNO. She joined CAPS’ professional staff in 2012 where she is the main liaison to Accessibility Services Center and UNO’s Military-Connected Resource Center. In addition, she oversees training and clinical supervision for CAPS master’s level interns.
Along with the entire CAPS staff, she creates a safe, inclusive space for UNO students needing support. She provides trauma-informed, mental health therapy for individuals and couples as well as outreach, referral assistance, and wellness education.
Her teaching and outreach focus on mental health topics such as stress management, healthy relationships, and suicide prevention.
In her free time, she enjoys time with family, friends and pets, campfires, reading, and travel.
