Biography
She | Her Amy C. Schindler is the UNO Libraries' Director of Archives & Special Collections (2014-present). She came to UNO from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where she was University Archivist. She was previously Curator of Manuscripts at the University at Albany, SUNY where she had responsibility for expanding and providing access to the Archives of Public Affairs & Policy. She previously held contract positions in local government and corporate archives. She has presented at meetings of the Society of American Archivists, Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference, American Association for History and Computing, Academic Library Advancement & Development Network, Joint Conference of Librarians of Color, and other conferences.

Amy C. Schindler has served in various roles for the of the Society of American Archivists, Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference, Midwest Archives Conference, and other organizations. Selected recent professional service includes: co-chair of the SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force on the Development of Standardized Statistical Measures for the Public Services of Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries (2014-2018); co-chair of the SAA Reference, Access and Outreach Section Exhibits and Events Committee (2017- ); co-chair of the SAA Reference, Access and Outreach Section Access to Electronic Records Working Group (2014-2015); member of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference, Ad-Hoc Committee for the Revision of MARAC's Governing Documents (2014-2015); chair of the Society of American Archivists, Nominating Committee (2013-2014); and many other roles.

SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force on the Development of Standardized Statistical Measures for the Public Services of Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries, Task Force Chair, The task force was responsible for the development of the first standard defining appropriate statistical measures and performance metrics to govern the collection and analysis of statistical data for describing public services provided by archival repositories and special collections libraries. My responsibilities as co-chair: organized weekly work sessions, monthly meetings, and public events and programs providing updates on our progress and soliciting feedback; wrote communications pieces for various newsletters, mailing lists, and other outlets; wrote, edited, and published two draft versions of the proposed standard to meet the comment and feedback requirements for standard approval before finalizing the over 70 page document., 06/01/2014 - present
