Criss Library – Historical material sharing the history of Opera Omaha since its founding in 1958 is on display in UNO Libraries’ Archives and Special Collections from January 9 through April 30, 2018.
The exhibition Operatic Times: Highlights from Opera Omaha’s History, 1958-2018 shares the story of Nebraska’s only professional opera company through programs, photographs, publications, posters, make-up recipes, meeting minutes, and other historical material.
In honor of Opera Omaha’s 60th anniversary season in 2018-2019, all Opera Omaha programs along with selected early photographs from the 1960s and 1970s are also available online through the UNO Libraries Digital Collections.
All items on display are from the records of Opera Omaha, which are available in UNO Libraries’ Archives & Special Collections. Opera Omaha donated its records to UNO Libraries beginning in 1999 with additions continuing to be made to the collection since that time.
The records of Opera Omaha are one of several significant collections documenting the arts in Omaha available from UNO Libraries’ Archives & Special Collections. Contact Amy Schindler, acschindler@unomaha.edu 402-554-6046, to learn more or discuss a potential donation.
