KANEKO-UNO Library – The KANEKO-UNO Creativity Library (K-UNO Library) has received a $3,000 grant from Humanities Nebraska to fund a series of instructional videos to help support our local community in Information & Civic Literacies and Invisible Histories. This program is designed for middle school and high-school-aged students within the Omaha Public School system. The goal of the educational program is to foster creative thinking and growth for students while supporting parents and teachers in need of supplemental resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A series of videos will be created using local scholars in subject-specific areas. The videos will be accessible by teachers or parents to supplement curriculum, whether they are learning remotely, or in-person. These videos will include a lecture or teaching component, followed by an activity prompt for teachers or parents to use with students to foster critical thinking skills and creative thought. The videos will be openly accessible from the UNO Libraries website and will be completed by March 2021.
