Criss Library is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone where they are free to be their authentic selves. We believe diversity makes our community stronger. We will continue to work toward equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all in our community. We work in the field of librarianship, a profession that is rooted in education and a calling that supports freedom of access, opportunity, and information. The Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Library provides resources and services in the effort to “serve our communities through inclusion rather than exclusion,” per the UNO Core. Libraries and library personnel play a collective role in confronting racism, bigotry, bias, prejudice, ignorance, hatred, and violence within our halls and in the broader Omaha community. We stand behind our continued work to make this a safe and better place for all.
