International Love Data Week is an annual event that celebrates data and promotes good data practices. Held each year during the week of Valentine's Day, the 2025 event is scheduled for February 10–14. This year's theme, "Whose Data Is It, Anyway?", encourages participants to reflect on data ownership and provenance before utilizing data in their work.
Throughout Love Data Week, universities and organizations worldwide will host events and activities to promote data literacy and best practices. For a full list of global events, visit ICPSR’s event page.
Love Data Week provides a platform for data enthusiasts to engage in meaningful discussions, enhance their data skills, and reflect on the ethical considerations of data usage. Criss Library is here to help researchers make the most of their data!
SANDY Workshop on Feb. 14
To celebrate, the University of Nebraska (NU) System is hosting a workshop on Friday, Feb. 14, to introduce our new Research Data Repository, SANDY. SANDY enhances data accessibility by making Nebraska’s research data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and open. This workshop, hosted by UNL Libraries, will highlight SANDY’s features and demonstrate how to use the repository for data curation and sharing. Attendees will learn how SANDY supports researchers across the NU System.
For more details or to register for the workshop, visit the workshop webpage or explore the repository before the workshop.
