Do we need to bring our laptop along with us or will a computer be provided?
Yes, please bring your laptop computer or tablet. If you do not have one, a laptop will be loaned to you during your time in Omaha.
Do you have recommendations for what to pack for the weather in Nebraska?

Regarding cultural activities, will we need to perform our country's traditional culture?
You will have opportunities for presentations and performances that reflect your country's traditional culture. If you would like to bring a national attire, goods, photos, etc. to use during these opportunities, you are encouraged to do so.
How can my family and friends back home stay in contact with me while I am in the US?
You will have access to wifi in most places, such as your hotel and anywhere on the UNO campus. If you wish to have cellular access while in the U.S., you may purchase an international SIM card upon arrival.
Do I need to bring my own money?
Housing, food, and program-related activities are covered by UNO and the State Department. However, please bring USD for any personal or souvenir shopping during your trip.
Can I exchange my local currency in the U.S.?
Exchanging local currency from your home country can be very difficult to do in the U.S. It is encouraged that you exchange your money into USD before or during your international travel to the U.S. If you have a debit card from a bank, inform your bank of your upcoming trip to used your card here in the U.S. to take out money in USD at an atm.
Can I see my friends or family in the U.S.?
Due to U.S. Department of State regulations, participants are not allowed to leave the institute in which they are attending. Friends and family can visit you but must be pre-approved by program staff. All academic fellows must stay in the program lodging at all times and are not allowed to stay elsewhere in the community or with friends or family.
