Who is eligible for study abroad?
UNO students who are not on academic or disciplinary probation and have a minimum GPA between 2.0 and 2.5 are eligible to study abroad. Each program has its own specific requirements, so be sure to check with your program provider or the Education Abroad Office.
Typically, the earliest students will be able to go abroad during their college career is the first semester of their sophomore year. This allows students to fully acclimate to college life prior to navigating another country’s academic system.
Approval to study abroad is granted on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions about eligibility requirements or the recommended timeline for studying abroad, contact the Education Abroad Office.
