Join us throughout November as we celebrate and support veterans and military-connected individuals within our University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) community. Our series of events is designed to offer resources, networking, recognition, and remembrance for the service and sacrifices made by veterans. All students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome to attend.
Each event provides a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and support our military community. Whether you're a student veteran, military family member, or UNO supporter, your presence makes a difference in celebrating and honoring our veterans.

USSTRATCOM Lunch & Learn

Connect with recruiters from U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) to learn about career opportunities within the organization. This session offers valuable networking opportunities with intelligence professionals and insights into civilian careers supporting national defense.

Federal Careers & Military Transition Seminar

Hear from Jason Piccolo, a retired federal agent and former federal hiring manager, on the pathways into federal careers and tips for transitioning from military service. This seminar is ideal for veterans exploring civilian federal job options.

UNO Veterans and Service Members, including students, faculty, and staff are invited to stop by the Military-Connected Resource Center to receive a voucher for one complimentary meal at the MBSC Food Court, pick up during office hours.
Veterans Day Breakfast
November 11 | 8 - 10 A.M. | Military-Connected Resource Center, MBSC 117
Kick off Veterans Day with a complimentary breakfast honoring our veterans. UNO Veterans and Service Members, including students, faculty, and staff are invited to gather at the Military-Connected Resource Center for a grab-and-go meal in recognition of our campus community's veterans.
Veterans Day Ceremony
November 11 | 11 A.M. | Memorial Park
The UNO Office of Military and Veteran Services, in collaboration with American Legion Post #1, will host a solemn ceremony at Memorial Park to honor all who have served. Join us in paying tribute to veterans and acknowledging their dedication and sacrifice.
The Things They Carry Ruck March 2024
November 19 – 23
The UNO and UNL Student Veterans Organizations (SVOs) invite you to participate in “The Things They Carry” Ruck March. This event raises awareness of the mental health challenges facing veterans and the over 6,000 veteran suicides each year. Join us in solidarity to bring attention to this critical issue.
