Omaha, Nebraska – Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is pleased to announce that Weiland, Inc. out of Norfolk, Nebraska, has been named 2019 SBA Nebraska Small Business Persons of the Year by the SBA Nebraska District Office.
Leon and Jean Weiland, owners of Weiland, Inc., have been named as the 2019 SBA Nebraska Small Business Persons of the Year. Joining them in their celebration will be Carl Weiland, Jason Ash and Rob Hake who have held operational roles in the business since 2009. Weiland, Inc. is a Norfolk-based specialty doors and window company that started on the family farm in 1984 and has since expanded to a 60,000 square foot facility in Norfolk. Dedication to innovation, customer service and producing a quality product has Weiland, Inc. on target to quadruple sales this year, and has allowed them to increase their staff by 58%!
"Weiland, Inc. has been a client of mine since June 2016, says Loren Kucera, NBDC Wayne Center Director. "I was initially contacted by the company to help them secure financing for their new facility near Norfolk. Immediately, I was impressed by the management team of Jason Ash, Rob Haake, and Carl Weiland. It didn’t take very long before I recognized this as a company that was growing while remaining financially strong. We were able to secure financing from five different sources and, as they say, “the rest is history”. I rarely say this about any of my clients but if I was younger I’d work for this company in a heartbeat!"
On May 8th, Weiland, Inc. will be recognized at an award ceremony in Norfolk, NE. NBDC State Director, Catherine Lang along with Loren Kucera will represent NBDC. This event coincides with the SBA's National Small Business Week which will be observed May 5-11.
