Transitioning to electronic and virtual delivery is ensuring that all of the services provided by the Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) remain available to current and new clients.
“Our events are continuing and everything we offer in services and one-on-one counseling is still available in digital formats or by phone,” says PTAC Business Development Specialist Catherine Walsh. “Our workshops and training sessions have transferred smoothly and have been welcomed by the attendees.”
PTAC has hosted six virtual events since March. One event, the Meet the Buyers Part I scheduled for March 20, has been rescheduled to September 11. It, too, will be a virtual event, with speakers from Omaha, Kansas City, St. Louis and Virginia live streaming from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Meet and Greet for Buyers with University of Nebraska procurement staff will take place virtually on July 15. “For this event, we will utilize Zoom breakout sessions to allow for interaction between participants and presenters,” Walsh says.
PTAC is hosting a total of 17 virtual events this summer, including webinars, virtual workshops, networking and meet-and-greet sessions, Walsh says.
PTAC offers consulting services, contracting workshops and networking events at no cost to Nebraska businesses to help them successfully position their companies to bid, win and fulfill federal, state and local government contracts. NBDC/PTAC consultants are credentialed business advisers with academic degrees and professional certifications, including Certified Contracting Assistance Specialist (CCAS), Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP), Certified Verification Counselor (CVC) and Certified Procurement Professional (CPP).
This procurement assistance center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency. To see upcoming events and to register: ptac.unomaha.edu/events
