Omaha, Nebraska – The Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has announced the upcoming transition of their Professional and Organizational Development program to the UNO CBA Executive Education program.
Since 1983, the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) program of the Nebraska Business Development Center has been training employees and improving organizations across the state. In response to the continued impact of COVID-19, in-person training ceased back in March 2020. The program switched to virtual online training to accommodate classes, however, enrollment numbers were lower than previous years. With the loss of revenue, the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), College of Business Administration (CBA) has made the decision to transfer Professional and Organizational Development services to the Executive Education program.
"We believe that the transition of Professional and Organizational Development services to Executive Education will align the mission of both programs and provide professionals across Nebraska and eastern Iowa with a single point of service for training, professional development, and educational needs," explained Catherine Lang, NBDC State Director.
Many programs currently offered by Professional and Organizational Development will be offered by the Executive Education Program in the future, including certification courses in Lean, Project Management, Leadership, and exam prep courses including the PMP exam prep and SHRM exam prep. UNO CBA Executive Education will be developing and offering in-person classes in 2021, when it is safe to do so.
During this transition, and because of the uncertainties that COVID-19 presents, Professional and Organizational Development is only offering on-line classes. NBDC will cease Professional and Organizational operations October 30, 2020. All other services and programs of NBDC will continue as usual.
"We want to thank all of our clients for supporting the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) program throughout the past 37 years," said Lang. "You have been a valued client of our services and we have enjoyed supporting your efforts to develop the talent of your workforce."
