UNO Theatre Presents: "As You Like It"

OMAHA - The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Department of Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s delightful comedy, "As You Like It" beginning Friday, April 17, and running through Saturday, April 25.

The production, which will complete UNO Theatre's 2014-2015 season, is directed by D. Scott Glasser, professor of theatre at UNO.

Preview performances for the play will take place Wednesday, April 15, and Thursday, April 16, with the show officially running Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, as well as Wednesday, April 22, through Saturday, April 25.

The play will take place at the UNO Theatre, Weber Fine Arts Building, 6001 Dodge Street.

The house opens at 7:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. curtain for all performances. The April 15 preview will also be a TAG Night Out.

For previews, tickets are $5 for all audiences. For performances, tickets are $15 for all audiences. Tickets are free for UNO students who present a valid UNO ID. The UNO Theatre Box Office now accepts all major credit cards.

"As You Like It" is set in pre-revolution Russia and is a fantasy about personal power and social responsibility told through a tangled web of disguise and romance.

Whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually, those who enter the Forest of Arden are often remarkably different when they leave. As we surrender to the spell of Shakespeare’s magic, we too are free for the moment from the conventions and restraints of the real world, and we linger in an enchanted wood to listen to the theorizing of Jaques, the jests of Touchstone and the laughter of Rosalind.
