OMAHA – An event organized by students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will raise money for an animal shelter by helping pet owners celebrate the holiday season.
On Sunday, Dec. 6, from noon to 3 p.m., pet owners can bring their pets to the Bookworm, off 90th and Center Streets, to have the pet’s photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
One photo costs $20; two photos cost $25.
All proceeds from the Santa Paws event will go to the Hearts United for Animals animal shelter. Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization dedicated to the relief of suffering.
Santa Paws is sponsored by UNO’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter (MavPRSSA).
“Our students especially look forward to this event each year because they love working with animals and are very supportive of the work a shelter like Hearts United does to save them,” said Karen Weber, MavPRSSA faculty adviser.
This will be the 10th year of Santa Paws.
