Information Services wants to remind all faculty and staff to turn off their computers over the holiday break.
Microsoft's lead editor, Monte Enbysk, notes that shutting off your computer each night when you leave work could save as much as $90 per year.
So clicking the "Shut Down" button on your computer before you leave, not only saves energy and therefore money, but also reduces wear on the machine and is added protection against viruses and hacking attacks.
If you have any questions please contact IS Technical Support at 402.554.4357 (4-HELP) or unohelpdesk@unomaha.edu.
