Vanessa Vasa Named Employee of the Month for January
The University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) recently selected Vanessa Vasa as Employee of the Month for January. A Catering Manager in Student Involvement, Vanessa was nominated for her leadership and attention to detail.
Her nominators said, “Vanessa has helped transform the Catering department. She has used her innovative talents to purchase new catering equipment, design new catering menus, and revamp the recipes utilized by the culinary staff.”
Vanessa works very well with the other Food Services team members and especially well with our on- and off-campus guests to provide the best culinary experiences possible.
They continue, “Vanessa works very well with the other Food Services team members and especially well with our on- and off-campus guests to provide the best culinary experiences possible. Vanessa has instilled pride in the Food Services staff and has helped lead them to branch out and be innovative.”
As Employee of the Month, Vanessa will receive a certificate, lapel pin, hot/cold tumbler, portrait, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event (excluding hockey), and use of a designated parking space. Please contact the Office of University Communications (4-2358) for additional details.

Human Resources announced the updated Employee of the Month – “Oh” Award for “Oh, what a difference you make!” – program for UNO staff members.
