These four UNO professors will receive professorships for the 2016-2017 school year:
- Bruce Johansen, Communication-College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media, Kayser Chair
- Yong Shi, Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis-College of Information Science and Technology, Isaacson Professorship
- Elliott Ostler, Educational Leadership-College of Education, Peter Kiewit Distinguished Professorship
- William Blizek, Philosophy-College of Arts and Sciences, Peter Kiewit Distinguished Professorship
About the professorships:
The professorships recognize faculty members for their excellence and ability to go above and beyond their regular duties.
Isaacson Professorship:
The Isaacson Professorship is awarded on the basis of outstanding performance in research/creative activity. Appointments typically carry a $5,000-$10,000 supplement to the recipient’s annual salary. Eligibility is limited to faculty holding the rank of Professor.
Kayser Professorship:
The Kayser Professorship is awarded on the basis of outstanding performance in research/creative activity. Appointments carry a $5,000 supplement to the recipient’s annual salary. Eligibility is limited to faculty holding the rank of Professor.
Kiewit Professorship:
The Peter Kiewit Distinguished Professorship is awarded on the basis of outstanding performance in research/creative activity and teaching. The Kiewit Professorship typically carries a $5,000 supplement to the recipient’s annual salary. Eligibility is limited to faculty holding the rank of Professor.
