UNO Flag Lowering for Fred Holbert

The University of Nebraska at Omaha flag will be lowered Thursday, May 12, 2016, for Fred Holbert, a retiree who passed away February 27, 2016.

Fred was 80 years old at the time of his death. He worked as an Associate Professor in Criminal Justice from August 26, 1971, until his retirement on June 1, 1998.

According to his obituary, Fred was a prolific entertainer, musician, artist, and loving father and grandfather. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed vigorous political discussions.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Robert Holbert; brother, Allan Holbert; and wife, Dee Dee Holbert. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Dr. Ariadne Schemm; son, Major Robert Holbert; granddaughters, Livia and Shaine; and sisters, Angela Terry and Louise Casey.
