UNO Flag Lowering for Walter Dean

The University of Nebraska at Omaha flag will be lowered today, May 16, 2016, for Walter (Walt) Dean, a retiree who passed away May 9, 2016.

Walt was 78 years old at the time of his death. He worked as an Electrician for Maintenance and Operations from September 19, 1988, until his retirement on February 1, 2007.

According to his obituary, Walt loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons – Ryan, Brandt, Nate, and Matthew. He also enjoyed reading about classic cars and mysteries, solving crossword puzzles, and helping others.

Walt is survived by his wife, Janet Dean.
