Effective July 1, 2016, the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and the Academic Partnership for Instruction (API) is merging into a single matrixed organization in an effort to provide an improved and more integrated approach to faculty support on the UNO campus. The new unit will be led by co-directors Karen Hein (CFE Director) and Shelley Schafer (Academic Computing Director), who both have extensive experience supporting faculty in teaching and meeting academic computing needs.
Combined staffing will provide faculty with a more efficient process for obtaining assistance with pedagogical, technical, and professional development needs by creating a one-stop shop for connecting faculty to the UNO campus. In the coming year, CFE/API will identify other UNO faculty support partners; explore best practice models for a comprehensive faculty support center; develop a charter and mission statement; re-brand CFE/API; and investigate options for a centralized, highly visible physical location.
The CFE/API office is located in Kayser Hall (514) and can be reached at 402/554-2427.
