The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Master of Arts in Critical & Creative Thinking (MA CCT) program is celebrating its first anniversary. The MA CCT began accepting applications in July 2015, and, after just one year, the program has a number of accomplishments to celebrate.
Here are a few highlights:
- The program exceeded enrollment expectations.
- Faculty from 13 departments across the College of Arts and Sciences delivered 17 courses.
- Faculty and staff collaborated with UNMC faculty to deliver three critical and creative thinking workshops.
When asked why she was interested in pursuing the MA CCT, one student said, “I wanted to pursue a degree that would benefit me if I stayed in [my current] industry or if I ventured into another field.”
Another student said, “I browsed the Graduate Programs list often and didn’t feel passionate about any of the programs until I saw this one. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was time for me to finally apply.”
The MA CCT is looking forward to another successful academic year of growth and development with more students, new course offerings, and additional faculty members’ contributions. The deadline for fall applications is July 15.
The MA CCT is a totally online, interdisciplinary graduate degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. Drawing from across the rich and diverse landscape of the liberal arts and sciences, the MA CCT allows students to develop expertise in a concentration area through a breadth of disciplinary perspectives.
