UNO Flag Lowering for Everts Sibbernsen
The UNO flag in the Pep Bowl will be lowered September 15, 2016, for Everts Sibbernsen, a beloved retiree who was killed in a car crash on September 10, 2016. Everts was 88 years old at the time of his death.
Everts worked at UNO from October 22, 1969, until his retirement on July 1, 1984. He was a program coordinator for community services in the College of Continuing Education.
Everts was very involved in the Omaha community, serving as a charter member and former president of the Omaha West Rotary Club and a board member of the Omaha Home for Boys.
Everts is survived by his wife, Beverly Sibbernsen, sons, Michael Sibbernsen and James Sibbernsen, and six grandchildren. Funeral services for Everts are pending.
