Exhibit Honors 20th Anniversary of UNO Volleyball National Championship

Travel back into UNO sports history with a new women’s volleyball exhibit in Criss Library Archives & Special Collections. In December 1996, the UNO Mavericks volleyball team won the NCAA Division II National Championship. The team finished the season 35-2 in the championship game against the University of Tampa.

Visit the display in Archives & Special Collections on the first floor of Criss Library to see signed volleyballs, the championship trophy, photos, programs, and more from the 1996 champions. The display runs through December 2016.

University Archives strives to document the rich history of UNO Athletics and is seeking donations of sports artifacts, including equipment, uniforms, and letter materials. We also welcome programs, photographs, films, and other material documenting the history of sports at UNO, especially women’s athletics, which have been historically under documented. All archives acquisitions will be organized, preserved, and made accessible to anyone interested in UNO history.
