Valerie Lutz, Office Administrator, Grace Abbot School of Social Work (GASSW), was recently was named UNO’s Employee of the Month for December 2016.
The Celebration Committee team surprised Valerie with the news on Friday, December 2, 2016.
Valerie was nominated by her peers for her adaptability, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of the job.
They said, “Valerie has revised and consistently improves the administrative functioning of GASSW, from implementing cost-saving procedures and systems, to supervising the planning and construction of new office space for the school. She quietly and completely assumes responsibility for an increasing number of addtional projects."
Her peers continued, "Valerie pursued self-directed learning in all administrative functions of the position and has expanded and redefined multiple procedures. She is completing the Certified Public Management Program in addition to studying for her bachelor's degree. Valerie exudes professionalism in her communication with faculty, staff, and the students she supervises."
As Employee of the Month, Valerie will receive a certificate, lapel pin, hot/cold tumbler, portrait, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event, and use of a designated parking space. Please contact the Office of University Communications (4-2358) for additional details.
