OMAHA –
University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Business Administration Advisor Lacey Merica now has another job title: President of the Omaha Public Schools (OPS) Board of Education.
The board elected Merica as the new president on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.
Merica, a school board member since May 2013, says she’s looking forward to serving Nebraska's largest school district in this new role.
"I am excited to work with my board vice president, Marque Snow, and our fellow board members to keep OPS moving forward, while also addressing the district’s current and future challenges. UNO and OPS have a history of strong relationships, and I hope that will continue to grow and benefit the Omaha community."
Merica will continue to work as an advisor at UNO, and says she loves working with students to help them achieve their goals and find ways to get involved in the UNO community.
