Thanks to very generous donations from several UNO alumni and members of the metro area community, the UNO School of Music is the home to a new Steinway B piano.
A Steinway B piano is as nice as they come in the world of performing arts. Dr. Washington Garcia, director of the UNO School of Music, said UNO and Omaha are very lucky to have a musical instrument of this quality.
“The community of Omaha is so unique,” he said. “The people feel so strongly about taking care of each other.”
After a few trips to the Steinway factory in New York, Garcia found the perfect match to provide students, faculty and future guest performers a world-class musical experience.
