Flag Lowering for William Monen

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Thursday, Oct. 19, in memory of UNO student William Monen.

Monen passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and was 29 at the time of his death. He was a student in UNO's College of Information Science and Technology.

Monen is survived by parents, Nancy and James Monen; sister Emily; brother-in-law Wes; niece, Audrey; grandmother, Maureen; partner Abby Fleek; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial was held on Monday, Oct. 2, at Brownell Talbot Chapel.
