The CUMU Annual Conference is highly regarded as a vibrant platform to explore and share new ideas. Senior administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners attend to 'dig-in' and connect on common themes.
CUMU invites you to present your work at the 2018 CUMU Annual Conference: Partnering for Equity. Presentations should reflect on the changing role of our urban-serving institutions in tackling major themes through an equity lens. The submission deadline is April 23, 2018.
Presentation Formats
A blend of short presentations and deep-dive discussions allow for in-depth conversations and actionable next steps.
Best Practices: Showcase your work; highlight what owrked; and present positive outcomes in a traditional presentation format. 30 minutes. 2 presenters max.
Community Conversations: Create a thought-provoking, interactive discussion on problems, ideas, or practices that keep you up at night. 60 minutes. 3 presenters max.
Lightning Sessions: Inspire attendees to learn more about a topic in a quick, engaging, inspirational, and most importantly, fun way. 5 minutes. 1 presenter.
Mini Workshops: Engage attendees on new processes, infrastructure, or policy approaches in an interactive, how-to-session. 60 minutes. 3 presenters max.
Panel Presentations: Create a question and answer dialogue with diverse view points and perspectives around an impactful topic, ideally with a community partner. 60 minutes. 5 presenters max.
Poster Sessons: Gain significant attention for your work in a social "free-flowing" atmostphere. 90 minutes. 2 presenters max.
