On April 12, 2018 at the "College Access Symposium" in Lincoln, TRIO Project Achieve was inducted into the EducationQuest Foundation's "Hall of Fame".
The Hall of Fame recognizes students, individuals and organizations that help achieve EducationQuest's mission of improving access to higher education in Nebraska.
The TRIO Program, Project Achieve, helps first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities at UNO attain a college degree. Annually, Omaha TRIO programs serve 3,500+ area students ranging from 6th grade to college undergraduates and adult learners interested in receiving their GEDs.
Across the board, TRIO programs graduate students at rates higher than institutional averages.
"We are a 'students first' student-centered program, and to have the work done here at UNO continue to be recognized is very important to us." said Shannon Teamer, TRIO Project Achieve Director, "This award brings more awareness of the outstanding opportunities UNO has in support of underrepresented students."
TRIO Project Achieve would like to thank EducationQuest for their continued partnership in serving TRIO students.
