Mavs Honored at Heartland Youth Pride

On Friday, June 29, Mavericks were recognized for their work with LGBTQIA+ youth by Heartland Youth Pride.
Andrew Aleman, UNO Deputy Title IX Director, was honored with the Brad Fuglei Impact Award which is given to "an individual who exemplifies leadership and strength in our community with a focus on LGBTQ youth."
Nikola Halcyone Zaporowski, Multicultural Affairs Office Associate, received the Change Maker Award given to "an individual who has helped change the landscape of the LGBTQ+ youth experience in the heartland.
The Gender & Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) was recognized especially for hosting the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference (MBLGTACC) at UNO in February. GSRC received the Organization of the Year Award as "an organization that has shown support and solidarity around issues that affect LGBTQ+ Youth in an authentic way."
