The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 in memory of UNO retiree Pearl Parsons. Parsons passed away on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 and was 92 years old at the time of her death.
While at UNO, Parsons worked as an administrative assistant for the deans of the College of Education from 1965 until her retirement in 1987. During her 22 years on campus, Parsons was able to see the transition from Omaha University to the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Parsons is survived by daughters Karen and Nancy and her sons Dana and John. She also has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
