ilos is Now "UNO Academic Video," Powered by VidGrid

As ilos was renamed VidGrid, the university saw this as a great opportunity to internally re-brand the product as well.

UNO has been using ilos as its video platform since the summer of 2017. It’s a great product and has allowed instructors to use video in some exciting ways. On Aug. 14, 2018 ilos changed its name to VidGrid. It’s still the same great product we’ve been using for more than a year but with a new branding to better reflect their direction as a product.

You don’t need to do anything to update existing videos or links to them as a result of this name change. If you want to know more about why they are changing their name you can check out their blog post.

Since ilos is being renamed VidGrid, we saw this as a great opportunity to internally re-brand the product as well. Doing so allows us to keep a service name regardless of the vendor providing the service or any name changes they may have down the road. As such, the product formerly known as ilos will now be referred to at UNO as "UNO Academic Video, powered by VidGrid". For a while we know that the terms ilos, VidGrid and UNO Academic Video will all get used, but the important thing is providing a powerful video platform to serve the academic needs of the University.
