UNO Announces New Recruitment Campaign: Access to Exceptional

The new semester will bring a new undergraduate recruitment campaign to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO): Access to Exceptional.
The campaign’s key message reflects UNO’s 110-year-old mission to improve lives through access to exceptional education, research and service, while also putting a renewed focus on student stories.
Targeted digital ads, mailers, and other recruitment material feature a wide variety of Mavericks with diverse interests, backgrounds and journeys to UNO. Stories range from an aspiring pre-med student hoping to be a family physician for underserved communities to a full-time working professional who chose UNO’s nationally ranked online programming to take his career to the next level.
The common thread in each story is the concept of access.
"There are so many different ways that UNO is accessible and not only has that always been a core part of UNO’s mission, it truly is a point of distinction in today’s higher education landscape," said Lina Traslaviña Stover, director of Undergraduate Admissions. "We offer access to exceptional experiences through student involvement, exceptional opportunities through financial aid and scholarships, exceptional choices through a variety of majors and programs, the list goes on."
The Office of University Communications developed the campaign collaboratively with the Office of Enrollment Management by gathering input from students as well as campus and community partners.
The campaign is designed for flexibility and scalability, using stories to highlight everything from UNO’s apartment-style student housing to career advising.
"I love how this campaign leverages our most valuable asset: the incredible Mavericks who make our campus what it is today," said Emily Poeschl, interim executive director of the Office of University Communications. "We want students to be able to see themselves here and that’s exactly what this campaign is built to do. It focuses on the value that we offer, a value that speaks directly to our potential students by saying exactly what they get here; it says UNO means access to exceptional learning, living and location."

In addition to recruitment material, the theme will also be woven into ongoing campus image awareness efforts.
Access to Exceptional replaces the previous undergraduate recruitment campaign of There’s No Better Time to Be a Maverick.About the University of Nebraska at Omaha
