UNO Names Kirsten Omoto Employee of the Month

Kirsten Omoto, Assistant Veterans Coordinator for the Office of Military and Veteran Services, was recently named UNO's Employee of the Month for August.

The Celebration Committee surprised Kirsten with the award on Monday, August 6.

Kirsten was nominated by her peers for her hard work and dedication to her office and the veterans it services.

They said, “Kirsten is not only knowledgeable of her position, she takes every opportunity to improve, seeking out low-cost and free training and professional development opportunities.”

They continue,”She has taken every opportunity to educate herself on the changes to the constantly changing GI Bill and works closely with office leadership to ensure that all staff members are aware of the changes and how to implement the new processes.”

For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Kirsten will receive a certificate, lapel pin, hot/cold tumbler, portrait, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space.

To nominate an employee, print and complete the nomination form and send it through campus mail to the Office of Human Resources, 205 EAB.
