The University of Nebraska at Omaha has established a consistent, transparent, and inclusive campus policy development and approval process.
As a part of this process, proposed new campus policies must be posted online for a minimum of 30 days to serve as a campus review and comment period. Following the review and comment period, the policy will be routed to the Chancellor’s Cabinet for final approval.
The following draft policy is now open for review and comment on the campus policy library:
This draft policy is displayed in a redline format to highlight the changes made since the original draft was shared for review and comment in February 2018. The original draft generated significant feedback from faculty, staff, students, and community members. Numerous meetings were held with stakeholders to explore ways to improve the policy and meet the needs identified by university community members.
The most significant changes made include the ability to adjust the 30 business day reservation requirement for activities that could not reasonably be planned that far in advance and the opportunity to request that a particular space be temporarily noted as a Designated Public Forum Area or Facility that otherwise do not carry this designation.
