A student support program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has new leadership.
Jennifer (Jen) Papproth has been named as the new Director of the Accessibility Services Center. She brings to UNO over 12 years of dedicated service working directly with individuals with varying disabilities. She assumes her new responsibilities on Monday, October 15th.
Papproth previously served at Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation as a Rehabilitation Specialist and a Program Director. She has expertise in assisting individuals with disabilities to prepare, obtain, and keep competitive employment. Most recently at Nebraska VR she was responsible for creating and implementing training related to laws, advocacy, policy, and effectively assessing functional limitations. Papproth has over six years of staff supervision and consultation regarding accessibility and inclusion.
Jen is a proud, ‘double-Maverick’ earning both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Community Counseling from UNO. “I’m excited to be back at this beautiful campus where it all began for me” states Papproth. “I grew a lot, both professionally and personally from the experiences at UNO. I’m excited to oversee such an important center on campus and help students, faculty and staff learn more about the services offered by ASC.” Jen and her husband Joe have a daughter, Chloe. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, spending time with her family, and playing with her three cats and one dog.
The Accessibility Services Center (ASC) collaborates with students, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure that reasonable and appropriate accommodations are provided for students with disabilities. The office provides a full range of support services to ensure equal access for students.
