Oct. 1, 2018, the annual campus security and fire safety report was released via email. If you have not had the opportunity to read through it, please see below:
In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1990, 20 U.S.C. Sec 1092, the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) provides current students, faculty, and staff information relating to crime statistics and policies concerning public safety.
The law requires colleges and universities to publish and distribute an annual report, through publications, mailings, Internet or Intranet websites. The report must be distributed no later than Oct. 1 of each year.
This email is to notify UNO students, faculty, and staff that the most current Annual Report is now available online. The information can be viewed by visiting the Public Safety website and selecting Campus Security and Fire Safety Report.
In addition, Public Safety posts Safety Tips and Crime Prevention information on its website. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to review the information on a routine basis and contact Public Safety with questions or concerns.
A video introduction to many of the services provided by UNO's Department of Public Safety can be found on UNO's YouTube channel.
If you haven’t already signed up for emergency notifications, please sign up now for UNO Alert.
UNO Alert is an emergency notification program UNO uses to notify students, faculty, and staff in the event of life threatening or critical events on campus. It sends text messages to cell phones or e-mail to those who register. This service is NOT used for general campus notifications.
When you have a concern that is NOT an emergency and you feel other established reporting methods are not an option, you are now able to report your concern on line. See Report an Incident or a Concern for the links to report a concern about a ‘student’ or ‘staff, faculty, or a visitor’ to our campus.
For questions, please contact Public Safety at 402.554.2648.
