Flag Lowering for H. Edsel Buchanan

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 in memory of UNO retiree H. Edsel Buchanan.
Buchanan passed away on Sept. 29, 2018. He was 90 years old at the time of his passing.
While at UNO, Buchanan was a professor within the School of Health and Kinesiology from 1979 up until his retirement in July of 2002.
Edsel is survived by his daughter Stella Watts, who works in UNO’s Human Resources Department as well as a grandson, Sean Watts, who works within UNO’s Parking and Transit Operations Department.
H. Edsel Buchanan's memorial service will be on Sat., Oct. 13 at 2:30 P.M. at Benson Baptist Church, 6319 Maple St., Omaha, NE 68104, with a reception at the church following the service.
In leiu of flowers, Edsel’s family asks for donations to be made to the Nebraska Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
