Earlier this summer, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved the move and rebuilding of the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation (MMI) from its existing location on the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Omaha campus to the former First Data building on Pine Street, located on the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Scott Campus.
One of the benefits of the move is the opportunity to strengthen existing collaborations between MMI and UNO, as well as foster new partnerships.
In a recent interview, Chancellor Gold spoke with Karoly Mirnics, M.D., Ph.D., director of MMI, about what the move will mean for enhancing these collaborations and exploring new potential projects.
"We see that we will be very much integrated with the UNO community and we will develop a number of joint services," Mirnics says. "UNO has incredible strength in areas where we need to grow."
Services provided by MMI will begin in the new location in July 2020.
