New Resources Available for UNO Veterans

The Office of Military and Veteran Services (OMVS) is excited to offer two new services for veterans hosted weekly in MBSC 117.

Barb Shupe is a representative of the Veterans Integration To Academic Leadership (VITAL) program and serves as a VA College Outreach Coordinator. Barb is available every Monday from 10 A.M. – 3 P.M. and is a great resource for students. She can connect students to resources in the community and on campus, assist students with enrolling in VA health care benefits, assist students with collecting VA documentation for accommodation requests, and has points of contact in the VA Health Care system to assist with several other areas of need. Matt Starkey, a representative with the Veterans Benefits Administration, will also begin hosting biweekly offices hours and will alternate between Mondays and Tuesdays (a schedule will be posted in the OMVS). Matt’s can assist veteran students with disability claims, VA health care enrollment, and other benefit claims through the VA.
