Academic Affairs Announces New Faculty Awards

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Division of Academic Affairs has announced three new faculty awards to recognize the outstanding work being done by UNO faculty in the areas of community engagement, global engagement and use of technology.
The three new awards are:-
Excellence in Community Engagement Award
Nomination Deadline: Friday, Dec. 7, 2018

Faculty Excellence in Global Engagement Award

Outstanding Innovation in Teaching with Technology Award
Nomination Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2019
For each award, all nominees will be reviewed a committee, chaired by a member of the UNO Academic Affairs team and featuring representation from other faculty, college leadership and staff from UNO Academic Affairs.

Brief descriptions for each award are included below:
Excellence in Community Engagement Award
The Excellence in Community Engagement Award recognizes exceptional scholarship of engagement activity by full-time faculty members at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Nomination materials will be evaluated by the Excellence in Community Engagement Award Committee and then forwarded to the Chancellor’s Office for approval.
Faculty Excellence in Global Engagement Award
The Faculty Global Engagement Award recognizes excellence in global engagement by UNO faculty. Global engagement refers to the myriad ways faculty work to connect UNO to the world through their teaching, research and creative activity, and service. The award will consider the faculty member’s record of global engagement at UNO.
Outstanding Innovation in Teaching with Technology Award
The choices instructors make in using technology in their teaching help to positively shape students’ overall experience at an institution. This award recognizes and encourages faculty members who have contributed significant, creative teaching innovations and strategies that promote effective and deeper learning.
