Who May Apply
Faculty who plan to submit an application for a Collaboration Initiative grant must attend the Collaboration Initiative Retreat to be eligible for funding. The retreat is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 9, 9:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. Deadline to register for the retreat is Nov. 1 by 5 P.M. CST.

Type of Eligible Project
Three funding levels are available; all are intended to help NU researchers develop competitive extramural funding applications. For more details on each grant, to see the application requirements, or to access the online application form, see the Collaboration Initiative RFA.- Planning and Proposal-Generation Grants: One-year grants, of up to $20,000 each, to build new faculty research collaborations.
- Formed/Forming Team Seed Grants: Two-year grants, of up to $150,000 each, to enhance faculty research collaborations.
- Team-Strengthening Seed Grants: Two-year grants, of up to $300,000 each, to significantly strengthen existing faculty research collaborations.
Application deadline is Jan. 11 by 5 P.M. CST.
"Big Ideas" Collaboration Initiative
In conjunction with the Collaboration Initiative, faculty are invited to submit proposals for bold, interdisciplinary Big Ideas. The retreat and deadlines coincide at the same time.
