The Accessibility Services Center (ASC) is pleased to announce that Nick Oegema has joined their staff as an Accessibility Specialist.
Nick has a B.A. in Social Science Education from Grace University and a M.A. in Higher Education Administration & Leadership from the University of South Dakota, and he brings over five years experience working in a university setting centered around residence life and student services. In his role as Accessibility Specialist, Nick will be working directly with students to ensure access to accommodations is in place, and he'll also be collaborating with faculty and staff to provide guidance on the accommodation process.
"UNO has a great reputation for being student-focused and progressive," Nick said, "I'm excited to join the ASC and help augment the university's capabilities in supporting the students and faculty." In his spare time, Nick enjoys hiking, reading, and video games, and as a wayward Canadian, he is always up for a good hockey game.
The ASC collaborates with students, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure that reasonable and appropriate accommodations are provided for students with disabilities. The office offers a full range of support services to ensure equal access for students. To get in touch with Nick, email noegema@unomaha.edu or call 402.554.2872.
