Courtney Luxon, an advisor in the College of Education’s School of Health & Kinesiology, has been recognized for her excellence by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). Courtney was awarded the 2018 Region 6 Excellence in Advising New Advisor Award.
Courtney started advising at UNO in 2016, after receiving her M.A. in Educational Administration from UNL. She has been an invaluable asset to the UNO community through her student-focused approach to advising. Courtney excels in understanding each student’s unique situation and helping them to overcome obstacles as they strive to reach their goals. By collaborating with faculty and staff throughout the College of Education on data collection, assessment, and methods of tracking student progress, she has had a positive impact on many UNO students beyond those she works individually with. Courtney has previously been recognized for her outstanding work and was awarded the 2018 Advisor of the Year. A nominator for that award rightly called her a “champion for students”.
Courtney additionally serves as a member of both the Academic Advising Council and Staff Advisory Council. She will be recognized for this award at the upcoming conference May 1 - 3 in Sioux Falls, SD.
Please help us in congratulating Courtney on this well deserved award!
