In the coming days, news will be shared on plans for enhancements to the athletic facilities at UNO. These changes will greatly benefit the experience of student-athletes in both baseball and softball and will ultimately enhance the experience of Maverick fans and the greater Omaha community.
Our campus was very supportive of the construction of Baxter Arena and now, four years since its opening, both athletics and the campus community have benefited greatly. The planned baseball/softball facility will be another significant asset for UNO. It will provide both teams with their first on-campus home, and it will allow UNO to host youth baseball and softball events as well as state tournament play. The facility also will welcome NCAA College World Series participants each June.
UNO always has been deeply integrated into the Omaha community and when completed, the baseball/softball facility will provide another opportunity to welcome people to our campus to experience what it means to be a Maverick!
