In the 2008 legislative session, the Stem Cell Research Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 71-8801 et seq., “The Act”) was passed. The Act established the Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee. The Committee is responsible for developing a grant process and making grants to Nebraska institutions or researchers to conduct stem cell research that does not use human embryonic stem cells.
Internal application deadline is May 1, 2019. All proposals must be routed and approved in MavGrants by May 1. All proposals will be vetted and approved by a committee appointed by UNO's Office of Research and Creative Activity before it is accepted for full review.
External application deadline is May 20, 2019 4 P.M. CST. The Office of Research and Creative Activity will submit applications on behalf of University of Nebraska Omaha PI’s.
**Please note this RFA requires a dollar-for-dollar match. PI’s will need to have a plan for how they will meet this cost share requirement prior to the Internal submission on May 1.
