UNO Student Body President Aya Yousuf sits down with Chancellor Gold to talk about her time on campus, what attracted her to run and her goals as President.

  • Aya was born in Baghdad, Iraq before she moved to Michigan and then Omaha where she attended high school. She is a Political Science student entering her junior year at UNO.

  • Her love for meeting new people and advocating for their needs and wants is what attracted Aya to run for Student Body President.

  • Aya's biggest goal is to focus on student engagement; providing resources and communities that her peers need to succeed during their time at UNO.

  • Aya has been involved in Student Government since her freshman year, as well as the Goodrich Scholarship Program, University Honors Program and the United Nations Association.
