UNO Names Frank Vacek Employee of the Month

Frank Vacek, Manager of Engineering Services for UNO Television, was recently named UNO’s Employee of the Month for June.

The Celebration Committee surprised Frank with the award and refreshments on May 31, 2019.

Frank was nominated by his peers for his hard work and flexibility.

They said, “Frank almost by himself completely refitted UNO Television to convert it from 1990’s standard definition to cutting edge HDTV. He began a diligent search that went beyond what our original thoughts were to find the best equipment and price. He worked with vendors in each area to procure bids, which came in under the anticipated amount. Then he tore out the old studio equipment, rewired both studios and installed the new equipment. It is a Cadillac of studios now.”

They continue, “We have had many changes in UNO Television over the past four or five years and Frank has dealt with them all. He is flexible because he is comfortable in his job. He is comfortable in his job because he knows every single aspect of it.”

For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Frank will receive a certificate, lapel pin, hot/cold tumbler, portrait, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space. The Staff Advisory Council congratulated Frank by providing snacks and fare for the Employee of the Month to enjoy with peers and department members in celebration.
