Construction on and nearby Mammel Hall on UNO's Scott Campus will impact parking and traffic, from Monday, July 22, 2019 through April 2021.
During the construction of the privately-funded, 43,700 square foot addition, Lot 5 to the north of Mammel Hall will have a portion of its faculty, staff and student permit parking reallocated as visitor parking. This is in order to account for the loss of Lot 15, which previously served as the building's visitor parking area.
Between July 22 and the start of the 2019 fall semester the impacted parking area will temporarily be on the west portion of Lot 5, after which a long-term visitor parking space will be located on the east portion of the lot.
None of the construction on Mammel Hall is expected to impact vehicle or pedestrian traffic, or access to the building long term.
In addition to work on the Mammel Hall addition, concurrent construction near the First Data Building to the west of Mammel Hall will slightly impact vehicle traffic in the coming months. This is due to the closure of a thoroughfare along the First Data parking lot. During this closure, vehicles are encouraged to exit and enter the area from Pine Street.
